Shundong Li
Shundong Li is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering (CEAE) at WPI. He is trained as a data scientist and is passionate about applying data analysis, machine learning, and natural language processing (NLP) to the field of architectural engineering and building applications. His current research focuses on AI for buildings and cities, building data science, and time-series energy forecasting with reinforcement learning. He is involved in projects that include implementing large language models (LLM) to evaluate building performance using social media data and investigating occupants’ overriding behavior on the thermostat and its implication on grid emissions. Shundong holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Data Science, both from WPI.
