Alicia Van der Stighelen
Alicia Van der Stighelen is passionate about the sustainable transformation of the construction and energy sector, focusing on adaptive reuse of the existing built environment and cleantech implementation. Alicia holds a Master of Environmental Building Design (MEBD) from the University of Pennsylvania, and a MSc in Civil Engineering-Architecture from KU Leuven. During her first Master’s, she went on exchange to Tsinghua University in China and spent two months in Greece to conduct thesis field research on disaster resilience. Alicia also has been involved in the project on sleep health and indoor environment which is led by Prof. Ma in collaboration with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Penn Perelman School of Medicine.
Alicia is currently working as an architect and climate expert at MVRDV in the Netherlands.
