HERB-Lab Participates in Annex Planning Workshop

PI Ma participated in the “Annex 95” planning workshop held in Boston, hosted at Northeastern University. The workshop brought together researchers and practitioners to discuss the development of a proposed international research network on Human-Centric Buildings for a Changing Climate.

The workshop focused on emerging research needs at the intersection of building performance, occupant behavior, climate resilience, indoor environmental quality, and human well-being. Participants exchanged ideas on how buildings can better support people under changing climate conditions, including extreme heat, poor air quality, shifting comfort needs, and evolving expectations for healthy and resilient indoor environments.

This activity aligns closely with HERB-Lab’s mission to advance human-centered building research that connects simulation, sensing, artificial intelligence, environmental health, and community resilience. PI Ma’s participation reflects the lab’s continued engagement with international collaborative efforts to shape the next generation of climate-responsive and people-centered building research.
